Do the same on the other side. We also have vertical and reverse crunches. All of these help in the firming of your abdomen. Another routine that we have is the captain’s chair routine. While this is held as one of the most effective abdominal exercises, this is also among the most difficult to do. This is done inside the gym. All you have to do is sit on a chair, with holding on to handholds on both sides to stabilize your upper extremities. Slowly lift your knees upward and towards your chest. In a similar manner, you lower your knees to your starting position. However, this is not advisable for beginners or those people who have problems with their lower back.

Moreover, it is important to take a critical look on your breathing while performing these things. While your muscle contract, like when you crunch, you have to exhale. On the other hand, you inhale when you relax your muscles such as lowering your legs or returning into your starting position.

Generally, we want to perform the six pack abs workout routine which best fits our body built and health condition. It is always relative to your physical conditions, thereby allowing you, as the central actor, to decide for yourself on the best type of workout routine. Ok girls, we know how it goes, spring comes, our thoughts go to the bikini hidden away in the drawer and then quickly race to the slightly thickening waistline that has been hidden, for the last few months, under layers of winter clothing. And so with determined effort we launch ourselves into a diet/ exercise routine. If we are lucky within a few weeks we will have lost a few pounds and the clothes will feel a little looser.

Our torso may not be quite as firm and toned as we would like, but it does no longer resemble a wobbly jelly. So we dare to bare, if not all, then at least a bit, on the beach in the summer!

But autumn comes, the lure of warm apple pie draws us and its too cold to go out to the gym… and so the whole cycle gets repeated once again.

But this year, I have turned over a new leaf, I have determined that I will not lose my slender summer shape and have instead refined and re sculpted it. Now I’m so toned I even have a six pack.

Six pack abs for women? Can this be possible after twenty, or worse still after child birth I hear you say? It is possible, and there are many women out there who have already proven it. The secret is in having an exercise and diet routine that really works.

We have all done the crunches and sit ups and obliques that are supposed to tone and flatten our tummies but without much effect. But did you know that we have many different groups of abdominal muscles and unless you are working them all and in the right way, you won’t be able to get the healthy fantastic looking body you long for?

Six packs abs for women is possible, you just need to know how to achieve it. And it is not only exercise of the right type and in the right combination that is important. Diet is important too, because no matter how well you exercise, you will not be able to see those beautifully defined abdominal muscles if they are hidden beneath a layer of fat. Some foods, often known and loved – like chocolate, are fat makers. But less well known is the fact that some foods are fat burners. Yes, its true you can eat yourself slim.

My greatest failing in the past has been my own inability to stick to a diet and exercise regime. I tended to loose my motivation, usually after about two months or when it began to get really cold! So the biggest difference for me, and what helped me to actually achieve a fantastic figure and six pack abs, was a handful of really quite simple tips, which made me stick to my regime every step of the way, no matter what. Simple things, like making small goals and giving myself a reward when I achieved them.
